Step 3: Start lesson 1 and have a look around
Students learn how to use angle types to calculate unmarked angles. They will solve angle measurement challenge cards.
Students will identify triangles, describe their properties and measure their angles.
Students will identify properties of different quadrilaterals and explore interior angles.
Students will apply their angle knowledge to identify missing angles in triangles and quadrilaterals in a shape mural.
Students will explore circumference, diameter and radius and use string to measure parts of a circle.
Students construct 3D shapes using building materials in order to identify specific properties.
Students will work in groups to design and build different cuboids from nets they have created. This lesson is a hands-on, creative, open inquiry.
Students will locate and plot coordinates on a 4 quadrant grid and go on a ‘treasure hunt’.
Students will translate shapes on a grid to hide an otter’s royal artefacts.
Students will design a map and describe translations and reflections to visit sites on a map.
