Step 3: Start lesson 1 and have a look around

Students will explore line graphs in more detail and create their own line graph from frequency tables.

The aim of the lesson is to gather data and represent it in a graph. This could be a bar graph, line graph or line plot (if appropriate for your curriculum).

This lesson inquires into calculating the mean average of different data sets. This lesson might not be appropriate for your class depending on the curriculum that you follow. It also only covers the mean average. Median, mode and range are explored in the following lesson.

Student will explore and calculate the mean, mode, median and range of data sets. They will find the averages of the ‘hanging socks’ in this lesson.

This lesson introduces students to probability vocabulary, such as impossible, unlikely, even chance, likely and certain. They will order events depending on the probability of them occurring.

Students will play a game involving drawing coloured items out of a bag. They will use probability to make predictions while playing a game called The Colour Game.

This is a summative assessment that covers the key objectives from this statistics, probability and data unit.
