Step 3: Start lesson 1 and have a look around

Students will explore and convert between seconds, minutes and hours and use problem-solving skills to find the racers’ times.

Students will read and create analogue and digital time to the nearest minute. Students will complete an activity involving matching time cards and identifying ‘odd clocks’.

Students will revise the difference between am and pm and use their knowledge to read 12 and 24 hour time. Students will play a Bingo game involving 12 and 24 hour time.

Students will use their new time knowledge and skills to calculate the duration of events. They will refresh their word problem skills to solve elapsed time word problems and use their answers to solve a mystery.

This is a summative assessment that covers the key objectives from this time unit.
