Lesson 6: Writing numbers in written form (No. 2)

Students will write large numbers in written form and apply the knowledge learnt in the previous lesson by going on a shopping spree.
Lesson 5: Calculating perimeter using compound shapes

Students will find the perimeter of compound shapes with missing lengths. They will use their knowledge to calculate the perimeter of the animals’ paddocks.
Lesson 5: Writing numbers in written form (No. 1)

Students will practice writing large numbers in written form by writing cheques. They will explore when to use hyphen/commas and use the ‘hotel’ technique for support.
Lesson 4: Calculating perimeter

Students will explore finding the perimeter of 2D shapes, including compound shapes. They will calculate the perimeter of different enclosures for mythical creatures.
Lesson 4: Comparing numbers

Students will build on their place value knowledge by comparing large numbers. They will use the < > symbols to write number statements about numbers. Students will play a game called Risk It For The Biscuit.
Lesson 3: Converting units of length

Students will convert between millimetres, centimetres, metres and kilometres. They will find the size of interesting animals with different units of measurement.
Lesson 2: Converting centimetres and millimetres

Students will measure and convert between units of measurement of length using multiplication and division. They will practice this by estimating and measuring items in the classroom.
Lesson 3: Applying expanded form

Students will apply their expanding number skills from the previous lesson whilst playing Place Value Pointers, a fun number and points game.
Lesson 1: Identifying different units of measurement

Students will explore different units of measurement and identify types of measurements in real-life situations.
Lesson 2: Identifying the value of digits (expanding numbers)

Students will explore the value of digits by expanding large numbers and creating expanded form creatures. Students will explore the value of digits by expanding large numbers and creating expanded form creatures.
