Lesson 14: Rounding numbers to the nearest hundred

Students will continue practicng the number line strategy to confidently round numbers to the nearest 100, reinforcing their understanding through a visual approach. They will reinforce their knowledge by creating random numbers to round to 100 .
Lesson 13: Apply rounding to the nearest ten skills

Students will continue to use the number line strategy to round to the nearest ten. Students will apply their knowledge from the previous lesson to play a fun rounding game called Ice Breaker.
Lesson 12: Rounding numbers to the nearest ten

Students will be introduced to the concept of rounding and begin rounding to the nearest 10 using a number line strategy. They will use their knowledge to create random numbers and round them to the nearest 10.
Lesson 11: Apply regrouping knowledge

Students will apply their new regrouping knowledge to play ‘Swapsies’, a fun trading game that involves regrouping amounts using place value.
Lesson 10: Introduction to regrouping

Through visuals, students will explore how each place value column is 10x greater than the last and use this knowledge to regroup amounts. Students will create place value block sculptures and regroup the amounts used. (If you do not have place value blocks, there is a picture alternative.)
Lesson 9: Construct numbers: Applying place value knowledge

Students will create numbers that match specific criteria for each place value. They will apply their place value knowledge and problem-solving skills to solve ‘Build-It Challenges’ and find the matching amounts.
