This is a summative assessment that covers the key objectives from this fraction unit.
Lesson 15: Multiplying fractions by whole numbers

Students will explore how to multiply fractions by whole numbers. This is the foundational step to understanding how to multiply fractions by other fractions and mixed numbers in future lessons. They will roll dice or flip cards to create and solve multiplication number sentences.
Lesson 14: Making connections between fractions, decimals and percentages

Students will continue to apply their knowledge and delve deeper into converting fractions, decimals and percentages. They will explore connections while making chains and displays.
Lesson 13: Connecting fractions to decimals and percentages

Students will convert and write fractions as decimals and percentages. They will make their own pixelation picture that includes decimals, fractions and percentages.
Lesson 12: Add and subtract fractions with unlike denominators

Students will add and subtract fractions with like and unlike denominators and use their skills to solve secret square puzzles.
Lesson 11: Converting improper fractions into mixed numbers

Students will investigate the relationship between improper fractions and mixed numbers through visuals and number sentences. They will explore how to convert improper fractions into mixed numbers with a game called Wholey Moley.
Lesson 10: Add and subtract fractions (includes mixed numbers, improper fractions)

Students will investigate the relationship between improper fractions and mixed numbers through picture prompt visuals and number sentences.
Lesson 9: Problem-solve with fractions of amounts

Students will apply their knowledge of fractions of amounts in order to problem-solve. They will solve seashell sharing scenarios.
Lesson 8: Find fractions of amounts

Students will explore how to find fractions of amounts through visuals, diagrams and number sentences. Students will apply this knowledge to a garden themed problem-solving activity.
Lesson 7: Apply comparing fraction knowledge

Students will continue to apply their knowledge of comparing fractions with a pirate-themed game called Up The Ranks.
