Lesson 5: Investigate multiple and factor connections

Students will use their knowledge from the previous lessons to inquire into factors and multiples. They will make connections and create ‘I noticed’ statements about the patterns they find.

Students will explore multiples and strategies to find multiples. Students will use their knowledge of multiples to help the dog bury bones under the correct dog houses.

Students will recap multiplication and discuss, share and explore their different strategies for solving multiplication facts. They will play a game called Space Race to practice their strategies.
Lesson 15: Division Assessment

This is a summative assessment that covers the key objectives from this division unit.
Lesson 14: Applying problem-solving skills

Students will apply a range of division strategies and other operations to problem-solve. They will investigate the cost of letters on door hangers.
Lesson 13: Solving word problems

Students will use division strategies and REPS to solve 1-step and multi-step word problems. Students will use their answers to solve clues and find a prize winner.
Lesson 12: Applying long division to divide large numbers

Students will apply long division to solve 3-digit and 4-digit division problems. They will play a game called Jewel Joust to practice long division.
Lesson 11: Using long division to divide large numbers

Students will divide large numbers using long division and use their problem-solving skills to help Winnie find how many sandwiches she needs to make.
