Lesson 15: Applying partial product strategy

Students will apply their partial product knowledge to help the animals plan for their holidays.
Lesson 14: Introduction to partial product strategy

Students will be introduced to partial product strategy and use it to find the fiction lifespans of the animals they create.
Lesson 13: Applying lattice method

Students will apply their knowledge of lattice method to plan a trip to a space station.
Lesson 12: Introduction to lattice method

Students will use lattice method to solve multiplication up to 2 digit x 3 digit number sentences. They will practice their skills while playing a game called Top Spot.
Lesson 11: Exploring creative ways to multiply

Students will be shown a variety of ways to solve multiplication number sentences (2 digit x 1 digit up to 3 digit x 2 digit). Students will use flexible thinking to explore strategies that can be used to solve multiplication problems.
Lesson 10: Applying grid method to multiply

Students will continue to explore and apply their grid method knowledge. They will use their problem-solving skills to solve multiplication pyramid puzzles.
Lesson 9: Introduction to grid method

Students will use grid method to multiply. This involves splitting the number up into smaller amounts using a grid as a guide. The smaller products are then added at the end to find the final answer. Students will practice this strategy by calculating customers’ total spendings at a sports store.
Lesson 8: Multiply using place value dot strategy

Students will use place value dot strategy to multiply large numbers. This provides a visual representation of what happens when numbers are regrouped during multiplication. Students will play a game called Multiplication Showdown to practice picture dot strategy.
Lesson 7: Multiplying multiples of 10 and 100

Students will multiply by multiples of 10 and 100 (for example, 30 x 4 or 400 x 5 etc). Students will develop strategies to break up the number sentences into manageable amounts. They will practice their strategies by playing a game called Trophy Target.
Lesson 6: Multiplying by 10, 100 and 1,000

Students will use their place value knowledge to gain a conceptual understanding of how to multiply by 10, 100 and 1,000. Students will use their knowledge to order super hero cards.
