Lesson 5: Let’s identify factor friends

Students will identify factors and make connections between numbers that share similar factor amounts, enhancing their understanding of how factors relate to one another and to the structure of numbers. Students will use their findings to create factor bug buddies.
Lesson 4: Let’s investigate factors

Students will explore factors by investigating and analysing various number cards. This inquiry will deepen their understanding of factors and their role in multiplication and division.
Lesson 3: Let’s explore multiples

Students will investigate multiples and look for connections and patterns to make ‘I noticed’ statements.
Lesson 2: Let’s use skip counting to identify multiples

Students will practise skip counting to identify multiples of particular numbers. This approach will help them recognise patterns and build a stronger foundation in multiplication. Students will practice skip counting to identify multiples with a game called Escape the Multiples Maze.
Lesson 1: Let’s explore equal groups

This lesson reviews the concept of equal groups and explores the connection between multiplication and repeated addition through imagery. Students will find equal groups in ‘I-Spy’ pictures and connect the groups to addition and multiplication number sentences.
Lesson 18: Let’s show what we know!

Students will show their knowledge of all the key ideas from this addition and subtraction unit. Please note, you can either complete an onscreen assessment or a printed version of the assessment.
Lesson 17: Let’s apply problem-solving skills

Students will use strategies from this unit to solve different problem-solving addition and subtraction puzzles and ‘escape the room’.
Lesson 16: Let’s solve addition and subtraction word problems

Students will apply addition/subtraction strategies and the REPS strategy to effectively solve word problems. They will complete a code cracker in order to find the answer to a joke.
Lesson 15: Let’s add and subtract money

Students will play a game of chance, called Money Bags, in which they will earn and lose money. They will use a variety of strategies, such as jump, split, compensation and column method to add and subtract.
Lesson 14: Let’s apply subtraction strategies

Students will focus on subtracting strategically in order to play the game Bang on Zero.
